Del Arco Collection

Projects

With a commitment to amplifying voices historically underrepresented and overlooked, the collection extends its mission through transformative projects: a residency program that nurtures artistic growth, private viewings that offer intimate engagement, loans to institutions that broaden its impact, curated talks and tours that spark meaningful dialogue, and prizes that celebrate innovation and inclusion. Together, these initiatives embody the collection’s vision of creating a more equitable and inclusive cultural landscape.

ART RESIDENCY

The Del Arco Collection’s art residency program is a transformative initiative designed to support artists who challenge norms and elevate underrepresented voices. Since its inception in 2020, the residency has hosted more than eight artists, offering them the unique opportunity to spend up to three months immersed in their practice. The program is deeply rooted in the collection’s mission to amplify female representation and explore diverse gender perspectives through visual art.

During their stay, residents receive tailored support, including access to a rich array of resources, mentorship from art professionals, and the space to experiment and grow. By fostering an environment that encourages both innovation and reflection, the residency empowers artists to push creative boundaries.

PRIVATE VIEWINGS OF THE COLLECTION

The Del Arco Collection offers exclusive private viewings, creating a uniquely personal way to experience its diverse and thought-provoking artworks. These curated encounters are designed to deepen connections with the collection’s mission, inviting guests to engage closely with pieces that challenge historic and institutional biases.

Guided by knowledgeable curators or our founder, visitors are led on an intimate journey through the collection, gaining fresh insights into the works and the narratives they represent. Whether hosting art professionals, collectors, or cultural enthusiasts, these private viewings serve as both an educational opportunity and a networking experience. They highlight the power of underrepresented art to inspire dialogue, foster connection, and expand the understanding of visual culture in meaningful ways.

LOANS TO MUSEUMS AND FOUNDATIONS

The Del Arco Collection’s commitment to fostering greater visibility for historically overlooked art extends far beyond its own walls. Through loans to museums and foundations, the collection ensures that its mission reaches audiences worldwide. These partnerships allow iconic and powerful works to be integrated into significant exhibitions, contextualizing the contributions of underrepresented artists in global art history.

When the collection loans its pieces, it contributes to a larger cultural conversation about diversity in the arts. By collaborating with curators and researchers, the collection plays an active role in expanding the discourse around representation and inclusion, offering audiences the chance to see art that challenges conventional narratives.

PRIZES AND AWARDS

In its ongoing effort to support and celebrate innovation in the arts, the Del Arco Collection has established a series of prizes and awards. These awards recognize artists who embody the collection’s values, particularly those who elevate underrepresented voices and explore themes of gender and identity in their work.

For artists, receiving a prize is a turning point, providing financial support, increased visibility, and opportunities to exhibit their work to new audiences. But these awards are about more than recognition—they are a statement of the collection’s commitment to championing bold, boundary-pushing art. By spotlighting these voices, the Del Arco Collection not only empowers individual artists but also continues to challenge systemic inequities within the art world

TALKS AND CURATED TOURS

Education and engagement are central to the Del Arco Collection’s mission, and its series of talks and curated tours are designed to bring audiences closer to the art and its stories. These events provide a platform for dialogue, often featuring leading voices from the art world, including curators, historians, and artists themselves.

Through these discussions, the collection unpacks themes of gender, diversity, and representation, providing new perspectives on the works it houses. Meanwhile, the curated tours offer an immersive experience, inviting participants to engage with the art on a deeper level. Together, these programs create a dynamic and inclusive space for learning, inspiration, and connection, reinforcing the collection’s dedication to fostering a more equitable art world.

CURATED EXHIBITIONS

The Del Arco Collection extends its impact through group exhibitions curated to highlight the collection’s core focus on representation and gender perspectives. These exhibitions bring together artists within the collection and those on the foundation's radar, creating a dynamic platform for dialogue and discovery.

Each curated show is designed to address pressing concerns in the contemporary art landscape, from societal inequities to shifting cultural paradigms. By thoughtfully selecting artists whose work resonates with these themes, the exhibitions not only amplify diverse voices but also position the collection as a leading force in contemporary discourse. Through these exhibitions, Del Arco bridges the gap between art and activism, providing audiences with thought-provoking experiences that challenge and inspire.

In keeping with its innovative approach, the Del Arco Collection embraces a nomadic exhibition model, bringing its works to life in architecturally and culturally significant spaces. Every 1-2 years, the collection selects a new venue in cities such as Barcelona and Berlin, ensuring each location complements the art and enhances the visitor experience.

These exhibitions celebrate both the art and the spaces they inhabit, often featuring award-winning designs or historically relevant architecture. By presenting the collection in this format, Del Arco reaches diverse audiences and fosters greater accessibility. Open to the public, these events invite communities to engage with the collection’s mission in unique and memorable settings, reinforcing the foundation’s vision of inclusivity and innovation.
